Framework contract for rehabilitation works to masonry arch bridges on local, regional and national primary routes. In excess of 25 bridges have been completed by the company in the period 2014-2016.

Principle works included:

  • Traffic and pedestrian management design and implementation on level 3 and 4 category roads
  • Environmental measures to protect the watercourse and habitat
  • Bridge widening and strengthening of arches, abutments and sprandrel walls
  • Strengthening works included crack stitching, pressure grouting and concrete saddles to arches
  • All stonework was cleaned, joints raked out and repointed in lime mortar
  • Gabion baskets and rock armour to prevent scouring
  • Underpinning of bridge abutments with concrete skirts
  • Kerbing and concrete rubbing strips to waterproof the bridge deck
  • Cold milling and re-surfacing of carriageway
  • Traffic Signs, line-markings and boundary fencing

The works were carried out under the Short Public Works Contract PW-CF6.
